Rimembranze Park

Rimembranze Park

More commonly known as “the avenue” or “the meadow”.

More commonly known as “the avenue” or “the meadow”, is the city park that has seen the growth of generations of young people massignanesi.

There are a beautiful pine forest with benches, games for children and equipment for outdoor gymnastics.

The view of the Adriatic Sea and the surrounding countryside make it an unmissable place for visitors.

In this place once stood a Roman rustic villa, then became a church with court donated to the Farfensi monks by the Ottoni dynasty, finally moved to the beginning of the same avenue (in the area where today the municipal schools) towards the end of the fourteenth century.

The avenue of the same name was so named in 1920 in memory of the 36 Massinese fallen of the First World War.

In the area of the current park have been found fragments of the ancient church, tombstones (the area also served as a cemetery) but also finds from the previous Roman era.
